Where do I start when talking about the amazing Amy Karol. This woman is a dynamo. I met Amy years ago, when Velocity was just a chick (keeping with the theme here folks), and when I was looking for interesting artists in Seattle to show at our store and online. Amy had just displayed a great set of monotype prints which were perfect for the store. She then created a fantastic series of paintings that incorporated stitching directly into the canvas. I was hooked. It was shortly after that time that I remember that Amy moved to Oregon to begin raising her new baby, and to continue exploring new artistic territory. She’s one of the most creative people I have ever had the privilege to work with and know. I can’t remember when it was that I stumbled upon her blog, Angry Chicken, but what a blog it was and has become. She has become her own creative empire, and I can’t be more pleased for her. From her little and big quilts, to multiple websites, recipes, sewing and craft projects, and even a published book, this is one artist who knows no boundaries. Congrats on all of your success Amy and keep up the inspiring work!
Here are just a few links to posts on her blog. There are so many interesting and funny posts that I don’t even know where to begin, so take it from me and visit the Angry Chicken yourself and get lost in all of her creativity.
Shadow Box Project
Crepes for Breakfast
Magnet project
And the list goes on and on and on. Happy reading!
